How AI Can Drive Prosperity: Highlights from Buenos Aires

In May 2025, Dimitris Dimitriadis, Futurist & CIO of TheFutureCats, participated in the “AI for Prosperity” forum, hosted by DCN Global and World Learning in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event brought together experts, government leaders, and innovators from across the Americas to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can contribute to building a better future.

During his talk, Dimitris focused on the idea of AI as a “general-purpose technology” something that will touch every part of our lives and work. He explained that AI isn’t here to replace people but to empower them. Used correctly, AI can enhance human creativity, decision-making, and overall well-being.

The event was attended by high-level officials, including LATAM policy makers and the Greek Embassy to Argentina, highlighting the global interest in how AI can support economic and social progress. The discussions covered essential topics, including the ethical use of AI, making innovation inclusive, and collaboration across borders.

Dimitris also shared more thoughts in an interview with Uruguayan publication Búsqueda, saying: “Until now, we accessed information. With AI, we access knowledge.”
