The FutureCats team won the GOLD award in the ‘Best in Metaverse’ category at the 2024 Indie Awards for their creation of the virtual world ‘DCNVerse’ in the Metaverse, designed for the global conference ‘Information Integrity in a Digital Age’.
In collaboration with the Digital Communication Network, and supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Citizen Exchanges, we’ve created an interactive 3D experience in a virtual world for the global conference ‘Information Integrity in a Digital Age’. Understanding the current trends, we chose to work with the most suitable platform for DCNVerse, spatial.io. This platform was selected because it’s accessible on mobile devices and offers an easy-to-use experience, allowing event attendees to quickly get familiar with navigating the virtual world.
We aimed for DCNVerse to be a valuable guide for people of all ages who want to expand their knowledge and skills regarding Web 3.0 and the Metaverse, achieving the following goals:
- Creating an interactive virtual world within the Metaverse where attendees can see practical applications of what they learned in theory.
- Providing education and training through hands-on experience within the Metaverse.
- Informing participants about this pioneering world and offering hands-on applications with avatars and digital equivalents.
- Familiarizing attendees with creating value in 3D decentralized environments.
- Hosting at least 550 participants simultaneously, each with their custom avatar, in the virtual world we built in the Metaverse.
Within the innovative platform spatial.io, we designed a custom 3D virtual world with different spaces for the audience to explore. Initially, each participant had to create their avatar within the pioneering platform ReadyPlayer.me. There, they could upload a selfie and see it transformed into a 3D representation of their face, or even choose to wear futuristic costumes with wings. Then they could explore the spaces, specifically the amphitheater where the introduction took place, the networking lobby, and the two gallery rooms displaying photos in NFT (non-fungible token) format from previous conferences. The participants had the chance to explore this new world, understand the value of a Metaverse environment experientially, and enhance their knowledge in a new field that combines different skills. The event was accessible via computer, mobile phone, or even with their Oculus Quest virtual reality headset.
550 participants were simultaneously on the spatial.io platform, attending the event with their personalized avatars, while 120 of them were physically present in the Sydney Opera House event hall. The participants explored the spaces, listened to speeches, panels, and exchanged views in real-time.
At TheFutureCats Innovation Consultancy, we are thrilled to create and promote innovative solutions in every area of new technologies. We are always ready for the next challenge and look forward to new achievements and successes.
