Dimitris Dimitriadis at TEDxLamia 2024!

Dimitris Dimitriadis, Futurist, delivered a keynote speech at TEDx Lamia 2024. This year’s TEDxLamia, with “πolis” (city) as its main topic, took place at the Municipal Theatre of Lamia on Sunday, September 22.

In his speech “From Hippodamus to the Algorithms; Artificial Intelligence Meets the Cities of the Future”, Dimitris Dimitriadis explained how Hippodamus’ early ideas laid the groundwork for modern urban planning. He then connected this to Artificial Intelligence (AI) ‘s role in shaping future cities. The key message was about removing biases—not just in our lives, but also in the algorithms we use.

Dimitriadis is passionate about exploring the future, identifying emerging mega-trends, and how different technologies converge to shape our world. He is a futurist, an expert in designing and transforming the companies of tomorrow, and works as a researcher in the Secretariat for Long-Term Planning under the Greek government.
