The transition from Web 2.0 to Web 3.0 presents a continuous evolution that requires new skills and familiarity with emerging technologies. Many individuals interested in this technological future lack practical opportunities for hands-on education in these new mediums. This gap in practical knowledge creates numerous questions and uncertainties regarding the Metaverse and its surrounding technologies. To tackle these challenges, the Digital Communication Network (DCN) aimed to offer immersive learning experiences to close the educational gap and prepare professionals for the future.
Recognizing the importance of a smooth digital transition, we developed a user-friendly and immersive experience within the spatial.io platform in collaboration with the Digital Communication Network so to create DCNVerse, an interactive 3D virtual environment. Participants created avatars, navigated the virtual world, and engaged in practical sessions. The event successfully engaged 550 virtual attendees and 120 in-person participants in Sydney. Attendees explored virtual spaces, participated in discussions, and gained practical insights into the Metaverse. The comprehensive guide that we created facilitated smooth navigation and effective platform usage, delivering a pioneering educational experience that enhanced participants’ digital skills and understanding of Web 3.0 and the Metaverse.
