Babis Chatzakos, Managing Director of TheFutureCats Innovation Consultancy, participated in the 2nd Trophy 2024 Meet-up focused on “E-commerce in Food Innovation,” organized by “New Agriculture New Generation.”

The 2nd Trophy 2024 Meet-up took place on Thursday, April 18, at Perrotis College in Thessaloniki.

The event aimed to highlight opportunities, trends, best practices, and prospects in the agri-food sector by collaborating with market companies, research organizations, and universities. In 2024, there is a greater emphasis on connecting university communities with the market and companies in the agri-food sector. This is why the event is held within universities, maintaining the structure of previous meet-ups.

Mr. Chatzakos participated in the discussion panel “Modern Challenges of E-commerce in the Agri-food Sector,” where he, along with experienced professionals, analyzed trends, challenges, and successful applications of E-commerce in the agri-food market.

AI / Personalization

Artificial intelligence will offer personalized suggestions and shopping experiences based on customers’ browsing history, making online shopping more enjoyable and increasing online sales.

Q-commerce (Quick Commerce)

Quick commerce, often referred to as Q-commerce, responds to the growing need for fast and convenient delivery, leading businesses to redefine their logistics and inventory management. This shift will favor partnerships with delivery services and the creation of micro-fulfillment centers.

Social commerce

In the dynamic landscape of e-commerce, social shopping will transform online purchases by leveraging the influence of social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, turning them into live sales channels. With continuous live product presentations, ASMR techniques, and the ability to take online orders from social media, the agri-food audience should consider adding this tactic to their marketing strategy.

In the second part of the event, participating students, researchers, and startups in the 2nd Trophy Meet-up took part in a brief business idea workshop based on the discussed themes. They presented their ideas and projects, and after voting, the winning team was chosen. This team will receive consulting support to develop their proposal and will compete with teams that stand out in future meet-ups.

The Trophy Meet-ups are an innovative initiative within the Trophy 2024 project, aiming to foster dialogue on agri-food innovation and technology and the broader digital transformation of the sector in our country.

The 2nd Trophy Meet-up was co-organized with the American Farm School, Perrotis College, and supported by Envolve Entrepreneurship. It is co-financed by the “New Agriculture New Generation” organization through the founding donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
